Partner Visa
The Partner Visa is a two-stage migration product. You are first granted the temporary 820 (or 309 if offshore) which gives unlimited work rights and Medicare. After two years and a relationship assessment, the visa becomes the permanent 801 (or 100).
About Partner Visa (Subclass 820 / 801).
The Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801 onshore, 309/100 offshore) is for the spouse, de-facto partner or fiancé of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
Stage one (820 or 309) is the temporary visa. Two years later, after demonstrating an ongoing genuine relationship, the second-stage permanent visa (801 or 100) is automatically assessed and granted.
